1. "Leaveyourlove" - Parcels (with MARO)
Here for MARO. Love her and pretty much anything she touches sonically. And her ability to jump back and forth from English to Portuguese and be able to write and perform in both fluently is just next level. She's incredible and my partner put me on to this song and I'm in love with it.
2. "Sleeping" - Foxwarren
Huge Andy Shauf fan....this is his side project. They released one album several years ago, pre-COVID. So Foxwarren randomly getting back together and putting out another batch of songs was a very welcome surprise. There are several that I enjoy but right now this is my favorite one from the new collection.
3. "Hotel California" - Eagles
Maybe the dumbest post I've ever made on here...but here me out. They are California based and I took a trip to California at the top of the month, and the person who was driving us around the most...his favorite artist is Eagles and I heard this song in the car for the first time in forever and ya know...you get so conditioned to the classics that we can sometimes forget why they are classics. But after hearing this song again, and pretending like I had never heard it before...man what a masterpiece. Absolutely incredible song from top to bottom. Truly every aspect. The poetry has been getting me lately though. Shoutouts to the Eagles.
4. "Selfish" - Healy
This song released just a few hours ago, but I already can't wait for Healy's next album coming next month. He has so many songs that just feel littered with ear candy, production always amazing and messages always of depth which I appreciate. I've enjoyed my first two listens of this one and will surely be bumping it throughout the summer months.
5. "Lightweight" - Adam Melchor
Definitely my favorite song off of Adam's most recent album. The chorus happens 3 times and I listen to each chorus differently as the song progresses, which to me is the sign of amazing writing. I've had this one on repeat for a couple weeks now, hope you enjoy it too!
