1. "Blood Orange" - Shadowlands

I'm a huge Bon Iver fan...therefore I'm a big S. Carey fan...therefore I found myself at the Shadowlands concert in Memphis on Thursday night of this past week. Shadowlands is a collab project of S. Carey, the drummer of Bon Iver, and John Rammond who is a trumpet/horn player. The concert mostly consisted of freeform ambient jazz jams and it was beautiful. Two songs stuck out to me on the album they recently released but this one is probably my favorite.

2. "Hole In A Frame" - Samia

I discovered Samia over COVID and really fell in love with a few of her songs. I've been a bit distant from her lately but a friend sent me an acoustic performance of a few of her songs on her most recent album and it intrigued me enough to listen to the full offering. There were several songs I really enjoyed but this one was my favorite. I thoroughly enjoy her writing and this one has been on repeat for sure

3. "Somebody That I Used To Know" - Gotye

Don't laugh at me. This song slaps. I don't know what I was reminded of it recently but I looked it back up and my opinions on it's slapping were confirmed.

4. "In One Ear" - Cage The Elephant

Another oldie but a goodie, not sure why but at some point I was pointed in the direction of some newish Cage The Elephant music and though I don't really listen to them much anymore, their debut album was absolutely amazing. "Aint No Rest For The Wicked" is an anthem, but this track gets quickly forgotten about sometimes when thinking about their biggest hits. It brings me copious amounts of energy everytime I hear it.

5. "Nana" - Maro

My lady used this song in a ballet she choreographed last year. I'm also just a big Maro fan. She's subconsciously convincing me to book a trip to Portugal. Anyway, I recalled this song recently and have been liking it more and more. Thanks for reading and listening to these and hopefully you've been able to find something you like!
